I have acquired my certification as an Equine Specialist with EAGALA, PATH Intel. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, and both english and western instruction with the Certified Horsemanship Association. As well as completed my Parelli Natural Horsemanship level 3. I am Currently working on my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My experience and education is dynamic and diverse in the equine industry. I started as a child working in exchange for riding lessons as an english rider; and rode in 4-H and the United States Pony Club. I rode as a three-day eventer, and hunter. I also worked on a farm as an adolescent where we drove teams and used horsepower for much of their farming needs.
As a teen I started working on cattle ranches stocked with well over a 1,000 head. Day working on ranches from MT to ID, AZ, NM, CO and UT has given me many years and miles in the saddle. Within these years I studied at the University of Findlay English Equestrian program and gained my level 3 in Parelli Natural Horsemanship in western riding as well. Followed by a continuous 700+ mile pack trip across the state of Montana with three horses, a dog and friend.
I don't care to name drop, and the list is too long to share but I have studied under or worked for many Cowboy and Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductees, International Horsemanship educators, Multi-Million dollar riders and regularly continue advancing my education with the best the industry has to offer.
Dana "doesn't assume anything. She trains rider and horse with patience, reasoning, and reinforcement in a timely and encouraging manner. If you have the fortune of crossing her path, walk along with her for a while and enjoy the journey.”
Within the horse training process I focus on a balanced horse that is trained with the practical skills necessary for any job presented to him be it a competitive working cow horse, ranch versatility, dressage, ranch or a safe gentle trail horse.
